The training objective of a professional degree in ophthalmology is to cultivate practical medical talents with specific ability in both clinical practice and basic scientific research. Using the "double-track integration", training model the cultivation of postgraduate clinical ability has been strengthened, but ability in scientific research has been weakened. Based on the analysis of the problems existing in the cultivation of scientific research ability in the implementation of the "double-track integration" training model, this paper discusses how to improve the scientific research ability of postgraduates undertaking a professional degree.
