Abstract

Since its introduction, generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) has received extensive attention and discussion in the education sector. Scholars from various disciplines have elaborated on the significant impact and potential applications of GenAI in the field of medical education, including medical genetics, nursing, and laboratory medicine. The development of GenAI is poised to integrate deeply into more medical education scenarios, bringing convenience to the future medical field. Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) education, distinct from modern medical education in its theories, diagnostic methods, and clinical practices, has its unique characteristics. It is worth exploring whether GenAI can be applied to TCM education to complement and enhance its educational development, and how to address concerns regarding errors, biases, and privacy during the practical application of GenAI in education. Therefore, this paper analyzes the potential applications, challenges, and countermeasures of GenAI in TCM education, aiming to provide references for the application of GenAI in TCM education to better adapt to the rapid development of medicine.
